"Two deceased pastors of the Kingdom Seekers Fellowship Church ... will be laid to rest Thursday following the failure of concerted prayers to resurrect them."

I wonder what happened in the lives of these people that would make them think this would actually work.....

Probably nothing.  Just the normal time of bereavement and people comforting with the knowledge that they will be seeing each other again in heaven.

Normal time of bereavement hell, they were trying to bring those dead men back to life! Obviously God had made a mistake, and the congregation needed some time to explain the flaw in his divine plan to him.
And to those who believe that Christuianity is harmless, this is the time of thinking that it enourages.
Last call for the 21st century!

The only reasons why the Kingdom Seekers failed to bring back the 2 dead pastors, was because the were doing it wrong or weren't trying hard enough. There's a perfectly logical reason why they failed. That's why I'm an atheist, because I'm doing the god thing all wrong, or I'm not trying hard enough to find god.

Couple of assumptions you have made here...

    1)  That it was God's plan to resurrect them
    2)  That there effort was harmful
    3)  That the congregation knew what God's plan was.

It also assumes that you never made a mistake in what you think you should be doing too - have you never made a mistake in decision making?

Also... since you seem to know more about this than I do... who was hurt?  What evidence do you have that those in question were hurt?  Or are you basing this on assumptions?

Did you hear the one about the priest, the minister, and the rabbi who were asked what they would like people to say about them as they passed their coffins?

The priest said,"I would like the people to say that I devoted my life to my flock and to God." The minister said, "I would like the people going by my coffin to say that I was a devoted family man and worked hard to guide my congregation."

The rabbi said, "I would like them to say when they looked into my coffin,

     'LOOK, HE'S MOVING.'
