    Wink

It's really surprising how many people really believe in this stuff!

    Thanks for posting it

We have one Christian on this forum who believes it will happen.

    Isn't that correct, Palm?

Uh, I actually agree with Apolinario.

Should I cash in the 401K and live on the wild side?

Speaking of 401Ks, have you made any financial plans post-2011?

The mis-characterization, of the "looking for" of the coming biblical events, does not necessarily equate to glee. Moreover, it is most doubtful that anyone will be smiling as the elements are dissolved with fervent heat.....

    2 Peter 3:9-12

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

In fact, the question has been rhetorically asked: "Who will be able to stand?"; let alone, any anticipation of smiling or abounding with glee.. Roll Eyes..

    Revelation 6:12-17
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; and the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Can I add you to my list of people who will sign over their possessions pre-rapture (apocalypse)? Really, I'll make the necessary travel arrangements, legal applications and any other of the niggling details to make it all nice and legal.

Just sign on the dotted line, and at 12:01 am, May 18, 2011, all your worldly goods become mine, but do consider it, after all what good will they do you?

So many things to do, so little time to do it in. I hope the orbital cameras take good pictures of the destruction, so later some aliens can come find them and make good movies about it. I wonder who'll play me in the film. I'll be easy to spot: I'll be the fat white chich with the ferrets standing on the shores of Lake Michigan watching the tsunami.

Well, just so ya know CH, if you are planning to visit lake Michigan on May 18th, then bring a tent and plenty of food for the ferrets; because you'll be about three days too early.

Huh, might have to revise the agreement a bit, I was under the impression it was going to be on the 17th of may... it will be the 21st?

Still, its a good deal. Smiley

Your confusion is understandable Gorm; because, the biblical/celestial calendar indeed references the seventeenth day of the second month; however, when the celestial calendar is aligned with our modern-day Roman calendar, then, May 21st, 2011 is the end result.

Putting the End of the World date in my Outlook calendar. I wouldn't want to oversleep that day.

[edit] It's a Saturday of all *#$%@# days. Generations of suffering and now this!!!

Somebody say a prayer and change it to Monday, Jeesh.

Gorm, Gorm, Gorm; Your dogged lust for my possessions reminds of the question: "What does it profit a man to gain the possessions of the whole world, but lose his own soul?? My physical possessions are of so little value now, let alone, after the days of the final Judgement begin. Perhaps, you and Steve can cast lots for my possessions, eh??

Maybe... Or we can divvy it up in the spirit of sharing, though if Steve already has dibs... I would not call it lust, but whats the sense of it just sitting around.

Or more realistically, it would certainly a testament to your faith if you actually signed over your possessions for ownership after May 21, 2011. So live your faith by giving me your stuff. If you're wrong, well I'm not greedy... Wink

It's all yours Gorm. I've got millions, a rabbit, and a cat to give away before May 21, 2011.  Wink

You're mistaken Gorm; for my faith is not dependant on anything more, or less than, the grace and faith of God and Jesus Christ. Therefore, while your assessment may be accurate for the faith of some, it's not anywhere near the reality of the faith of Jesus; for He taught that an unbeliever remains in unbelief of the word of God, (Moses and the prophets); even if a man is risen from the dead. So, if Jesus' death and resurrection is meaningless to you, then how much more beyond meaningless would the giving to you of my possessions be??

    Luke 16:27-31
Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
