As an atheist I think all the people here want from me me is to be quiet. What does that mean?

We have several rather active athiest members... I can not imagine why you would feel you are being singled out?

Er ... eh? Are you saying that atheist/non-religious posters want you to be quiet? Or that other people do?

I'd say that as long as you're obeying the terms of service and such, there's no problem. If somebody doesn't enjoy your posts, s/he is free to move along and read other posts. And the same applies to everyone else.

Edited to add: Also, in the interest of being purely technical and annoying, I have to point out that, strictly speaking, it is impossible to be "quiet" on a message board, because we aren't making "noise." We're only using text, which is visual.

Shirley, you are the most inconsistent atheist since Darrow.  Grin

Like him you are an atheist who believes in "god." You just have a weird (and ever changing) definition of "god." Roll Eyes

What does it mean that you think this?

    or...

What does it mean that they want you to be quiet?

    That said...

You probably sense that there are a few people here who don't want to think much about why they believe what they believe. Critical questions are dangerous. It is why atheists are—and have always been—viewed as a threat.

I do not wish you to be quiet.

Feeling persecuted?  Remember:  the fact that you are paranoid does not mean that everyone is NOT out to get you.   Grin

It means you are too nice. They tell all the rest of us atheists to STFU.

    Hey Gorm_Sionnach...

You're sure making it difficult to attack religion. Such a nice guy. You're giving religion a good name. I'm going to have to give more thought to exactly what I find troublesome.  Undecided

    Namaste.

Now that you mention it I can't think of anything that nice either.

I wish someone would tell me to be quiet. It would mean that I'm winning.

I might have to crank up the sarcasm a bit.

Why?  I agree on far more subjects with the Atheists than with the practitioners of either Abrahamatic faiths or eastern religions (Buddism, Taoism, Hindu etc).  Besides if I wanted you to STFU, have no fear, I would not let another say or imply it for me.  If I haven't told you to STFU, then I don't want you to.

Hmmm… It may be the constant deleting of my posts even when not in violation of the rules. What do you think? Would that make you feel that way?

Complaining about moderation is a violation of the TOC, anywhere outside of the feedback forum.
